What does the Regulatory column show?
What it means and how to read it on a deal.
Tracking Alpha
What it is
A deal's approvals in one status, naming the approval it is about.
- China SAMR failed
- HSR second request
- HSR wait ends Oct 16
- HSR wait ended Oct 2, no result
- EU phase 1 review
- 2 pending, no stage given
- Cleared; the vote is left
- Approvals cleared
How to read it
It shows the first of these that holds, in this order, which is also the order the column sorts in:
- An approval failed
- China SAMR failed.
- In-depth review or challenge
- A second request, a phase 2 review or a challenge: HSR second request.
- Waiting period running
- HSR wait ends Oct 16.
- Waiting period ended, no result filed
- HSR wait ended Oct 2, no result.
- Pending, with a stage
- EU phase 1 review.
- Pending, no stage given
- 2 pending, no stage given.
- Only the vote or tender left
- Cleared; the vote is left.
- Approvals cleared
- Approvals cleared, Cleared or not required, or None required.
A dash means the deal has no approval published yet. The Regulatory status filter picks deals by these statuses. Point at the status, or focus it, for the regulatory card: a one-line summary, then each approval with its regulator, its stage in words and dots, its date, a line on what the stage is when its name doesn't say, and the filing it comes from, which opens its quote; then the vote, the tender, the outside date and how far it can move, and a link to the deal page.
