What does Next mean here?
What it means and how to read it on a deal.
/
What it is
The soonest date, today or later, that moves the deal.
Also calledNext dated event
How to read it
It picks from the shareholder meeting, the tender expiry, the HSR waiting period's end while HSR is pending, the go-shop's end, the outside date and the extended outside date. Holder dates such as the proxy deadline stay in Key dates and the deal sheet. A deal that closed or ended has none.
The Next dated event filter picks deals whose next date is within 7 or 30 days.
The date's colour says what kind of date it is, never how close it is:
- Meeting, Oct 15:The vote: the shareholder meeting
- Tender expires, Oct 21:The tender: the offer's expiry
- HSR wait ends, Oct 20:A regulator: the HSR waiting period's end
- Outside date, Dec 6:The contract: the outside date, its extension and the go-shop's end
