What is the expected close?

What it means and how to read it on a deal.

Tracking Alpha

What it is

When the companies say they expect the deal to close.

On the site asExpectedTo closeQ4 2026H1 2027by end of 2026

How to read it

Shown as the companies gave it: a day, or a period such as Q4 2026, H1 2027 or by end of 2026. It is guidance, not a deadline, and it moves when the companies update it.

For the maths a period counts as its last day: Q4 2026 is December 31, 2026. To close is the calendar days from today to that day, and the annualized spread runs to it. The list's Expected close filter groups deals by the quarter that day falls in.
